Visit Frontier Landing on July 27

Frontier Landing in Scott Bay, just south of Dupont Bay, is the water access to the new West Red Lake Mines property. Come for a visit on July 27, 2025 and find out about the long history of this property. Gus Dupont and Joe Hodgeson first staked and then trenched this property in 1928 which became Frontier Red Lake Gold Mines in May 1934. In the bush at the landing are some pieces of equipment like boilers and wheels from this era.

Several companies owned and did work on this property over the years. In 1975 Mount Jamie took over. O'Brien Rivard, an enthusiastic and optimistic man built his own mine. On July 27, Dan Rivard will hopefully be able to meet you at the landing to talk about his father and show you the equipment that still exists there.

Now West Red Lane Mines is working to start a mine on the property that encompasses Frontier, Mount Jamie, Lake Rowan and Red Crest (also known as Red Summit)
